An upcoming awareness campaign focuses on an important topic, eating disorders.  National Eating Disorder Awareness Week 2020 starts on February 24th.  This year’s theme is #ComeAsYouAre: Hindsight is 20/20.  The concept behind this year’s campaign is to reflect on the progress you have made on learning to accept yourself and others.  The campaign also aims to educate the public on eating disorders and encourages screenings and seeking help for those in need.  If you suspect someone you know has an eating disorder, or you believe you could have an eating disorder, go to this link to complete a short screening to see if it’s time to seek professional help.

If you need resources, support, or to learn about treatment options you can contact the Helpline at 1-800-931-2237.

There is also a parent toolkit, educator toolkit, coach and athletic trainer toolkit, and workplace toolkit that provides information on eating disorders and how to support someone with an eating disorder. Just follow this link.

The Alliance Walk for Eating Disorders Awareness will be on March 1, 2020 at Raymond James Stadium at 9am. The 2020 Tampa NOT ONE MORE campaign is a way for you to help raise awareness and offer support to individuals with an eating disorder.  Find more information about the event, prices, and registration at the following link.

Get off the scale! I have yet to see a scale that can tell you how enchanting your eyes are. I have yet to see a scale that can show you how wonderful your hair looks when the sun shines its glorious rays on it. I have yet to see a scale that can thank you for your compassion, sense of humor, and contagious smile. Get off the scale because I have yet to see one that can admire you for your perseverance when challenged in life.  – Steve Maraboli
